Charming Cottage on 5 Acre Horse Property.
Our slice of Hawaiian Heaven is located on the temperate side of Hualalai mountain also home to the finest Kona coffee in the world. The beautiful vistas from our property over look our pastures and neighboring coffee farms that frame the beautiful Kona Coast line and Ocean views that can amaze you with incredible Sunsets. The three stall cedar barn is home to Gilda, our Friesian mare and her 1/2 Arabian Colt, Kuu Ipo and one wonderful oversensitive loveable dog. The Cottage is located on the quiet side of the main house and pool with commanding ocean views of its own. The cozy studio includes a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishes and utensils. Enjoy a flat screen TV with a built-in DVD player.
We are located in Kona Coffee growing country approximately 2.5 miles from the little artist community of Holualoa town, a historic small town overlooking Kailua-Kona. The quaint old Hawaiian town boasts several beautiful local artist galleries, a small general store, a country post office, library, school, churches and lots of old style coffee shack buildings. Kailua-Kona, beaches, restaurants and shopping are just minutes down the mountain.
Our home is approximately 2100 feet above downtown Kailua a bit cooler than sea level making the nights perfect for sleeping and the days perfect for activities, as our day time temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees even in Summer.
Come experience a side of Hawaii that most people never get to see and enjoy our country hospitality smothered in Aloha!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this great cottage in the hills above Kona. Extremely clean, comfortable and well appointed. The owners, Sidnie and Wayne, are very nice and kind. An added bonus are the two horses and family dog. An easy 10 minute drive into the town of Kona, I would highly recommend this cottage and would welcome the opportunity to stay there again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was just the right place for our first visit to the Big Island, a serene spot with a wonderful view and clean, comfortable accommodations. We spent 3 nights there and day-tripped from the cottage in high-elevation Holualoa to Keauhou/Kahulu'u, to the Kohala area, and into Kailua-Kona, and though these destinations involved more driving than if we'd stayed in Kailua-Kona, coming and going along the lush, curvy Mamalahoa Highway was half the fun. The cottage was fun too. It is exactly as it looks - small but very tidy, cute, and well planned, supplied, and furnished. We slept like logs on the comfy bed, and the cool mornings and evenings on the deck were a delight. Sidnie and Wayne are friendly and professional hosts and deserve much credit for their wonderful little place. The only change I would have liked might be to swap out the wicker chair and love seat on the deck for something with a little more cushion and lounging potential (but then we'd probably have spent too much time on the deck and not enough time snorkeling and sightseeing!) Tip to guests: bring whatever breakfast or other supplies you need before heading up Palani Rd. from Kailua-Kona. Holualoa is no shopping Mecca! We spent 4 additional nights in 3 other places on the island, but this was the most memorable. Just hope we can make it back again sometime soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We don't know where to even begin....... This was our first trip to The Big Island and we can not say enough about this cottage & the owners! We spent one week here and now on our last night, we dont want to leave. Wayne and Sidnie are awesome. They made us feel so welcomed, here we are in Hawaii and being such an animal lover, I found myself not wanting to leave the property!! I could have spent the entire week watching, petting and taking (way too many) pictures of Gilda and Ipo. And Sam, the dog is just the sweetest guy. This little cottage is perfect for someone who wants to relax, be close to Kona but be able to come back at night and have the most peaceful sleep EVER! You feel like you are a million miles away and yet you walk out onto the porch and below you, is Kona and the beautiful blue ocean. This was the perfect place for my husband to recharge and get ready for the new year. We look forward to staying here again as soon as possible. And next trip, I'll try to not take soooo many pics of the horses.......who am I kidding, I LOVE THEM, They have described the studio and property perfectly. We have stayed at many five star hotels, but never had the welcoming service that we recvd when we drove up on day two, and Ipo the colt greeted us.......I was in HEAVEN! Because we were so comfortable with the horses, nothing beat waking up and having them grazing under our window. No, we aren't family, and until this trip, we didn't know them, (and I'm sure this all sounds cheesy but it is how we truly feel) they made us feel as if we were family with the privacy we were looking for. Thank you just doesn't seem like enough! Sincerely, Jim and Vicky WiseRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The property is accurately described, both with photo's and written. If anything my wife and I found it understated. The tranquility achieved by being at the end of a private paved road, gave it the feel of a true natural Hawaii. Both Wayne and Sidnie were wonderful hosts, going the extra mile when we had some computer problems they helped to resolve. There are many treasures to be found if you wish to look for them. Arriving after dark for the first time, we found it very helpful to have the location in our G.P.S, unit. Of our several stays on the big island, this was by far the best. Very clean!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We absolutely loved this little cottage! Sidnie and Wayne were perfect hosts. (Meaning they were there if you needed and left you alone if you preferred) This place has great modern day conveniences if you need them ie satelite tv, dvd, micro, fridge, wifi, etc. They also provided beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler which made our long days at the beach more comfortable. The weather is perfect to sleep at night and escape the heat of kona during the day. We love all the animals on the property and my wife even got to pet her first chicken! We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo! Curtis and SandyRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The owners were friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to show us Hawaiian hospitality. My husband and I stayed a week. The cottage is located on a beautiful hillside above Kona and was peaceful and serene. I would highly recommend a stay in the little cottage. You can sit on the patio in front and relax with a cup of coffee with a splendid view to gaze upon. There is a beautiful pool to use if you don't feel like spending time in the 80 degree ocean. The cottage had great reference books on what to do on the island. The cottage provides all the necessities and comfort of home with the beauty of Hawaii. We would stay at the cottage again on our next trip to the big island.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I loved my stay in this delightful & cozy cottage. Surrounded by natural beauty, I loved waking up to the rural setting and local fauna every morning. The sounds & sightings of tropical birds & wild turkies was a real treat, not to mention the beauty of the resident horses. Sidnie & Wayne went out of their way to make me feel welcome and introduce me to their beloved Friesan mare Gilda & her flirty foal Ipo. I just loved the peace & surroundings of this slice of paradise. The view from both the cottage & pool is breathtaking. The cottage was very clean & comfortable. Overall great value & unique experience.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We just want to thank Sidnie for this convenient and agreable stay to their cottage. We stayed for almost a week with my husband and my little one of 3 years old. We didn't spend a lot of time in the cottage, so it was perfect for us, just to have a place where to sleep and have so freshness from the mountain. It permit also ourself to see the mountains and the differencies between kona and holualoa. Anyway... if you decided to choose sidnie place, you would be very happy there!! thanks again... mola, simone and mailou.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
