If you want to be close to the ocean, this is the one. If you like privacy and quiet, there is no better condo. If you enjoy cooking and BBQ-ing with an oceanview, you found the place. If listening to the waves and sleeping in a comfy king bed (450 thread count linens, down pillows) interests you, look no further. If drinking coffee in the morning on your lanai watching the whales and turtles sounds good, it could be you. And if you like to surf, your own private winter break.

Our "surf shack" is not like the rest. Situated in a small complex(only 36 units), our end unit with private entrance sets us apart and makes for the most desirable 1 bdrm condo. Larger and with a special side window (the only condo), the "surf shack" is open and light. Big wood sliders let you enjoy the total view of the islands of Molokai and Lanai. Decorated in a "pottery barn meets polynesia" style, you will feel right at home.
A bright, bigger kitchen with all the tools and a BBQ right off your lanai has all the makings for a romantic candlelight dinner oceanfront. Nice tiled bathroom with a big shower, great to use after a day on our sandy beach. And now high speed internet, all for $160/night

  • The surf shack totally ROCKS! The location for our two week anniversary trip was absolutely perfect! The view from the lanai is breathtaking and the shack is hardly that at all. Everything was provided and in excellent shape. Very clean, updated, and well presented. The residents of the condo were very nice to recommend places of interest. The fish market down the street was fabulous. We used the grill nearly everyday and would absolutely recommend the surf shack. The owners are more than accomodating! We cannot wait to come back for another visit. Please contact me for questions. Definitely worth every penny and then some!

  • I'm writing this from right outside of The Shack. This place is everything the website said it is and more. It is perfect -- just what we were looking for. The condo is decorated so nicely -- and the bed rivals our one at home. We have been here two nights and have slept so well. The sound of the waves is very soothing. This location is ideal. The water is right outside the door. There is a little beach in front as well. Really, everything you need is right here. We walked down to the farmer's market yesterday morning -- a very short walk -- and got the best papayas and mangos, along with a lot of other things (don't miss the guacamole!). This really is the choice unit of this complex, being on the end. We can sit on our lanai and not see anyone or any buildings -- just the ocean and the beautiful views. The sun sets directly out front of the unit -- right between the islands of Molokai and Lanai. If this unit is available for when you want to come, you'd better book it -- you will be really glad you did. It's heavenly here!

  • Alwes Family - Chico,California Searching the internet for the perfect vacation spot can potentially be disappointing but not this time! Wow! What a wonderful condo! We absolutely loved the surf shack and hope to return each year. Thank you so much to Dan & Lindsay for sharing their island getaway paradise with us. We enjoyed Thanksgiving 2006 & my son Camerons 10th birthday at the surf shack and had a fabulous time. It was very clean & comfortable with all of the ammenities we could want. We used the beach towels, boogie board & chairs that were provided. We packed the little cooler with a picnic each day and set out for the beach. It was great to come back at sunset & enjoy the gorgeous view while we cooked our fresh fish on the bar-b-que, enjoyed a mai tai & best of all, ran a load of laundry. The king size bed was awesome and so comfortable! Our ten year old did great on the futon and loved to play the hawaiian music cd's provided. He turned the dining table in to puzzle central & completed the 700 piece ocean scene puzzle. We love how you have the condo decorated. It was fun, colorful, comfy & cozy with an island feel. The bath towels were thick and plush, everything was very clean and I would return for that reason alone but there was so many other great things too! Like, how about opening up both sliding doors, feeling the tradewinds, hearing the waves crashing while taking in the awesome views of Lanai & Molakai right there. Can't wait to come back! It doesn't get any better than this!

  • What a wonderful two weeks we spent at the "surf shack"! After swimming, hiking, snorkeling our way around the island, there was nothing quite like returning home to a comfortable place that had everything that we needed. There was even a day or two that we didn't leave and just soaked up the beauty right outside our door. We loved it, hated to leave, and would return soon, but alas....no more vacation!

  • We loved this condo! It is very well-appointed with a pillow top mattress, quality sheets, Fiestaware dishes and crystal glasses. The view could not be better, the sunsets are gorgeous from the lanai or even inside the condo. The ground-level corner unit is perfectly placed to hear the ocean at all times. Thanks for sharing it!

  • This is truly a special place. Just came back from a wonderful week at the "surf shack". Sipping tropical drinks on the lanai with a good book in hand,waves crashing and whales breeching in the foreground - this is the good life. You won't be disappointed.
