  • Wow

"Stayed here for 5 nights and loved every minute of it - highly recommend this place. Stunning views, nice feel about the resort, and the condo has everything you would need. Short walk to the beach and beach bar of the Regis, I could have spent hours here if there was not so much to do on the island. The condo is really nicely decorated and has a great modern homely feel from books and DVDs and CDs to the most comfy outside lounges I have ever laid on. Pool area beautiful and we wiled away several hours in the sand bottomed spa with a red wine surrounded by tropical plants - bliss! Joyce was helpful the whole way through, and made it so easy for us to stay another night when we decided we couldn't leave! Only down points didn't really affect us at all. There is construction going on on site, but the condo is so far away you don't hear anything, and only see the odd thing down that end of the resort. Also the resort staff were not so friendly at the reception desk (the activities guy was sooo dismissive) but this is not a reflection of this condo - you can arrange everything yourself and after checkin there is no real reason to have anything do with the resort staff anyway. As an island Kauai is more than worth the visit - Na Pali coast walk, the Canyon, and Hanalei are highlights (and if you haven't taken a helicopter ride, do it!) - and now having been there, I don't think there's a question of which side of the island to stay on - this is it. I really hope I'll be back one day."

  • Spectacular

"We absolutely loved our stay at this property and would recommend it without reservation! The location is unbeatable, with sweeping views and peaceful surroundings. The condo is fully stocked and was immaculately clean on our arrival. We enjoyed meeting the nene geese as they stopped by while we breakfasted on the patio each morning! Likewise, the private access to a gorgeous cove and spectacular snorkelling made this vacation rental truly amazing. Another favorite treat at this location was the chance to end the day with a cocktail at the St. Regis (10 min walk)."

  • Even the Trees Have Flowers in Their Hair: Beautiful, Big, Loved Home in the Canopy of the Jungle

"Staying in Linda and Joe’s home-away-from-home gave us the opportunity to visit “Old Hawai’i,” the Hawai’i that is characterised by nature. The view from the living room and the attached lanai (deck) is timeless, as if it could have been from a thousand years ago, and yet it changes from moment to moment. Seeing the mountains, waterfalls, and the ocean in Hanalei Bay, all at once, seems surreal. And you can sip a cold drink, eat breakfast, or just sit and stare at the changing scene for as long as you want. This view makes it easy to imagine dinosaurs running around on this coast. The vegetation that hugs the house and the birds and jungle fowl that roam freely make this accommodation more valuable than the price you pay in rent. And the best snorkeling beach on the whole of the island is right-across-the-street. Hop out of bed, grab snorkeling gear, and do the short hike down the hill to the beach. It was a dream come true for us. We would come back, make breakfast and then start a day of exploration! I could go on about Kaua’i; it lives up to the marketing line, “Welcome to Paradise!” This is old Hawai’i with the conveniences of contemporary life. The fans and louvered windows provide enough cool air for a night’s sleep on comfy. We appreciated the appliances and the beach gear. We appreciated that the carpets and hardwood felt clean, all of the linens and kitchen supplies are in good order and fully stocked. Walk right in and start living. We have rented other cottages; this is our first rental from people who actually stay in it. “We’ve got to do something about tracking all that sand in!” There is hose at the foot of the entry stairs to clean beach sand off feet, snorkel gear, boogie boards…. Linda and Joe are spectacular – straight forward, honest, caring, sharing, and with intent. Their love of Hawai’ian culture inspired us to learn how to read and pronounce words in Hawai’ian – with the apostrophes and the diphthongs. We spent one night counting the number of letters from the alphabet that are used in the Hawai’ian language, and then were able to confirm it while reading one of their books about Hawai’i. We fell in love with reading books and watching movies about Kaua’i. We hoped our visit to Kaua’i would be good and that our accommodation would not detract. Our visit was spectacular and our accommodation exceptional. This visit has impacted our lives greatly and it would not be the same visit to be stuck in a hotel room."

  • Perfect place

"We prefer to do things ourselves when we travel, avoiding resorts and hotels etc and this place was close to everything we love about Kauai, the North Shore! Kids loved close to so many great beaches. Our favorites were Secret Beach and Tunnels, and of course Anini. We grilled down by the beautiful pool and swam there every night. Breakfast on the balcony every am. Aloha. for some reason the stars wont let me post...5 for sure."
