Molokai is the premiere Hawaiian Island for the adventure seeker. It is the place for people who prefer to be outside hiking, biking, snorkeling or swimming. It is the island of less crowds considered "off the beaten path" by the guide books. This is what appealed to us and still appeals to us. Molokai remains uncrowded and a secret vacation spot for those who do not need restaurants and shopping centers. For those desiring close companionship, peace, natural beauty and serenity, this is the perfect island.

Paniolo Hale is a unique, secluded condominium complex located on the west end of Molokai. It is a shaded oasis to the many island birds who provide a symphony for you every morning. The lush plantings of ginger, heliconia, night jasmine, and banana trees are shaded by the monkey pod trees, mango trees, avocado trees and banyan tree.

Tucked into this beautiful shady oasis is our condo C3. Multiple beautiful beaches start at only a 2 minute walk from our front door. C3 is a one bedroom/one bathroom unit privately located away from the parking lot and public areas.The C building is a one story building ensuring there are no neighbors above or below you. C3 resembles a Hawaiian cottage or tree house with a feeling of openness through out. The wrap around lanai and the 5 French doors opening out to the 400 square foot screened lanai create this openness. Since the lanai is completely screened, we leave the doors open all the time. You will be surrounded by beautiful garden views of ginger, night jasmine, heliconia, areca palms and a huge banyan tree. In the summer the shower trees bloom on the hill beside our unit. It also has a peek a boo ocean view.

Thanks to all the shade trees and open layout of the entire condo, the temperature remains cool and comfortable throughout C3 even during the hot summer months. Due to our one story floor plan, the master bedroom is always open to the trade wind breezes. There are doors that provide privacy for the bedroom that we prefer to keep open. The units with upstairs bedrooms can be hotter since they do not have this air flow.This is important since there are no air conditioned units in condos on Molokai. After a day at the beach, C3 provides a cool, shady respite from the hot summer sun.

The lanai features bamboo loungers that invite you to drink coffee in the morning and read in the afternoon. The wicker table on the lanai awaits romantic, homemade dinners. There is also a corner grouping of bamboo chairs where we visit with friends. There is even room in the far corner of the lanai for a clothesline to dry your bathing suits and towels (or spread out your dive gear as we do).

The living room is comfortably furnished with a full size futon couch, wicker chair, and swivel chair. There is a new flat screen TV with DVD player. Lots of throw pillows guarantee comfortable seating while watching movies at night. There is also a ceiling fan to keep you cool.

There are cathedral wood ceilings throughout the condo. The floors are also wood in the condo except for the cool tile in the remodeled bathroom. There are skylights in both the bathroom and kitchen adding to the natural light in the condo. The shower in the condo is remodeled with tile and is large enough for two.

The kitchen is a chef's dream. We have everything you need to cook and serve. Besides the normal blender, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and grinder, we provide a huge crockpot, rice cooker and large food processor. There are many pots and pans, some that I have no idea how to use like a double boiler. You could make as many as 4 casseroles at one time! There are bamboo mats for sushi preparation as well as sushi serving dishes. The dishwasher is brand new. There is also a stackable washer and dryer in the corner closet in the kitchen. Not all condos on Molokai provide a washer and dryer in their unit so we are very thankful for ours. There is an ice maker in the fridge for morning papaya/coconut/banana smoothies!

The California king bed with soft cotton sheets is welcoming at the end of the day as you drift off to the sound of the waves. We have had more compliments on the comfort of this bed! It is probably half due to the bed and the other half due to the peacefulness of our condo. Whichever way, it guarantees you a good night sleep!

We end our day with a sunset almost every night. The sunsets on the west end are amazing. The only time we miss them is if we decide to take a last swim of the day in the pool in the evening. There is surfing/whale watching in front of Paniolo Hale in the winter and snorkeling/swimming in the summer.

For outdoor activities, we provide boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach chairs and towels and a cooler along with our own insider's guide book of recommended Molokai Adventures. We try to provide.everything you need while vacationing on Molokai! All you have to bring is your adventurous spirit!

We live on a 14 acre horse farm in the foothills of North Carolina with 5 horses, 5 dogs, 7 cats, and 4 chickens. We both work as RNs, Laura specializing in mental health and Curt in Oncology. Laura is an avid vegetable gardener. She is also a professional classical musician performing regularly on the horn with various local groups. We both love trail riding and camping with the horses. We fell in love with Molokai on our honeymoon there in 2001. We love the peacefulness, solitude and natural beauty of the island. We also love to scuba dive (especially the rock!) with Tim at Molokai fish and dive whenever possible!

We chose to buy a condo at Paniolo Hale because we love the open air feel of the one story units. We love having a corner unit and spend most of our time on the lanai. We also love being on the west end because we love to hike and explore the secluded beaches.

Quiet escape

Loved our quiet getaway to Molokai

This cozy little corner condo is the perfect place to unwind.

There are very few choices for eating out on Molokai, however this kitchen is well equipped for cooking in. We enjoyed all the beautiful birds and flowers on the property. We slept with our doors open every night listening to the ocean and periodic rainfall. Then woke in the morning with the birds singing. At the end of the day we spent our evenings enjoying dinner and drinks on the beautifully furnished private lani with our friends staying on the property.

Great, very quiet and private garden unit!

This unit is well equipped and furnished. Its king size bed is extremely comfortable. If you cannot relax while staying in this unit on Molokai, there is no help for you!!! We loved out time on Molokai and we will return.

Just so lovely

Beautiful condo in lovely location minutes from the beach. I find it hard to find anything I didn't like about this accomodation. The condo was well equipped with a huge lanai the photos don't do it justice. Unlike some condos we have stayed in before this really felt like a home from home everything from a really comfy bed to beautiful furniture on the lanai. The pool on site though small was really clean and most of the time hardly anyone else was there. We thought that this was probably going to be our only visit to Molakai - but we may well be back!
