Mountain Street Carriage House is a delightful home base for your Camden area/coastal Maine adventure in any season. The property is located on a lovely in-town lot and set back privately from the street. The Carriage House is detached from the main house, with a private entrance. There is ample off-street parking and a lovely grass yard area with mature plantings, trees, and an outdoor seating/picnic area.
Literally step out of your door and walk to the center of town and harbor in less than 5 minutes. Alternatively, walk to the Mt. Battie trail head in less than 5 minutes to climb to the top of Camden for views of the town and ocean that are not to be missed!
This property is an ideal, affordable winter rental. We’re close to the Snow Bowl, which features downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as the International Toboggan Championship. Winter sports enthusiasts also enjoy ice-fishing and cross-country skiing on Megunticook Lake, just up the street. We are also only 12 minutes from the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport.
The carriage house features a heated mudroom/entry on the first floor with a fully equipped laundry. The second floor includes a private bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed, den, full kitchen, bathroom, and living and dining areas. Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams highlight the living and dining rooms. The spacious and airy kitchen features a skylight over the kitchen sink and up-to-date appliances. Additional skylights add sunshine to the den and bathroom.
The interior has been thoughtfully furnished and decorated with antiques, photographs and textiles from both the owners' travels and local sources. We also stocked it with high quality linens and kitchen items that you would enjoy in your own home.
This property is managed by the owners, who live on site. We try to offer our guests the same level of vacation or temporary housing that we expect in our own travels: cleanliness, comfort, beauty and attention to detail that makes the difference between a good experience and a great one!
