About Lucy Thompson

Owner is a licensed real estate broker-agent in New Jersey.

Lucy Thompson purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Lucy Thompson chose Sebago Lake

We wanted a location that was right on the water but in a quiet spot. This was the first house that we saw and no others afterwards approached the quality of this location! The area is beautiful at any time of year and we also wanted to be able to visit year round (even though we don't generally rent out the cottage in the winter except to long term renters.)

The floor plan is excellent for both small and large numbers of guests and there is plenty of room for everyone to have their 'space.' We have equipped the house to a very high standard with everything one could possibly need to enjoy a 'home away from home.'

What makes this cottage unique

The best part of the day is late afternoon/early evening when sitting on the deck, or down by the dock, looking towards the west (and the sunset) listening to the loons calling across the lake. Time goes by very peacefully there and it is very easy to relax and just chill out. One can choose to opt out of the 'rat race' completely or venture into Portland or some of the other towns along the coast or inland - the nice thing is that the house is only 20 minutes from the Maine Turnpike so it is very accessible to all areas of interest.

Great Spot for Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were extremely happy with the rental. We just loved how peaceful this vacation was. We had never rented a cottage previously during our vacations. This was so much more enjoyable than renting hotel rooms. The property is beautiful and well maintained. There are plenty of local attractions within a 20 minute drive. After this experience I am sure we will be renting a cottage on our next vacation. Quality time with the family without feeling crowded just made the trip so much better. I highly recommend this property. Thanks for such a great week!

Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this property to anyone interested in enjoying a wonderful stay next to a beautiful pond in Maine. My wife and I spent a week with our son, his wife and our grandchildren, and we all had a grand time. The cottage is charming, beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you can think of, including kayaks, a badminton net and even a foosball table (plus cable tv, wifi network, board games, puzzles and excellent mobile phone reception). Grocery stores, restaurants, etc. are a short driving distance away.

Lovely peaceful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were so happy to arrive at Coffee Pond after an exciting trip via Iceland and New York. The cottage was just what we were hoping for - comfortable, spacious, well equipped, and in a beautiful setting. We really appreciated the kayaks which were used daily. Enjoyed local walks and trips to Boothbay Harbour for whale watching, and the White Mountains just an hours drive away, but mostly enjoyed the peace and quiet and relaxing on, in and by the water. It's a long way from the U K but we hope to return one day.

Wonderful vacation getaway

  • 5 of 5

Loved the place. Lots of open space. Accessible (minor limitation on bathroom door width). Updated. Nicely decorated. Kitchen had all dishes and gadgets needed. Really sold on the large master with air conditioning! Nice views. Enjoyed using the kayaks. Very thankful to the owners for making a ramp to slider door. Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful home away from home to us.

A wonderful find

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this wonderful, quiet, well kept place. The kayaks were a huge treat, and we used them every day. The kitchen is well stocked, and the beds were quite comfortable. The info from the rental agent said no linens would be available, so I bought some especially for the trip, But when we arrived there were in fact linens there. A little more clarity would have helped. Be aware that this place is not near the place where you pick up the key -- it's another 30 minutes away in no traffic. But they were nice and allowed me to mail the key back instead of driving back to the office. Overall, a great find.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay! It really is an idyllic place! Just a couple of comments - we chose that specific rental agency because it is the very best in the area and offers a comprehensive service to both us and guests and, as they are flexible within reason with having guests mail back the key, it generally works very well. Incidentally we do not provide linens for guests as it is not practical to do piles of laundry prior to a 10 am checkout so we ask that guests bring all their own sheets and towels and take them home for laundering. Any linens at the house are for the exclusive use of our family and are generally locked in a closet. Please visit us again and tell your friends about us!

Fabulous Stay As Always!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at 3 Loons on Coffee Pond for several years now and for good reason. The setting is idyllic - a real getaway from the hustle and bustle. The house is simply a home away from home, beautifully maintained, clean and welcoming. The main floor of the house (which includes the Master Bedroom) has stunning views of the lake as does the deck which is our favorite hangout at all times of the day. While we prefer to stay put, there are some interesting day trips to be made to Portland, Freeport (for LL Bean!), Boothbay Harbor and Kennebunkport for those seeking a change of scenery. The grocery store is a short drive away and there are great restaurants in Naples and Bridgton. We are looking forward to visiting again some day soon!
