Barbie & Jeff Fairchild
Why Barbie & Jeff Fairchild chose Inverness
This property was purchased by my grandparents and is now owned by our family. We grew up here enjoying the beaches, trails, nature and beauty, and hope to share it with our guests.
What makes this House unique
Helen's House is a beautiful rustic retreat that offers a getaway from the hectic daily grind and allows one to get back in sync with the peacefulness of nature. We are away from it all, and in the middle of it all being surrounded by the Point Reyes National Seashore and Tomales Bay State Park.

Cozy cabin with beautiful vies
This was a great spot. The house was warm and cozy and the views and surrounding nature were incredible. We had a great time and would love to come back. Highly recommend.
Inside Pt Reyes but close to Inverness, comfy bungalow
We three aging photographers were very comfortable and very much enjoyed the idyllic location.
Setting: Pt Reyes National Seashore is a peninsula with large cattle grazing lands surrounded by a bay to the East and the Ocean to the West. Miles of roads through the land provide opportunities to observe both scenery and wildlife. The park is just north of the town of Inverness. Helen's house is near the entrance at the junction of Pierce Point Road and Marshall. The house is on an acre or so of land. In March the lawn was blanketed with white and yellow daffodils and frequented by deer. The house has a peek-a-boo view of the bay to the East. There are also trees on the property that give the hillside home a secluded feel.
The house: a 2 bedroom bungalow (one story, cabin feel on the inside with lots of wood) with a generous living area, kitchen prep area with a sink, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, hand mixer. A snug cooking area shares the space with the dryer and noisy washer and is poorly illuminated with two of the 4 bulbs not working. Pots and pans, plates, cups and glassware, prep bowls, colindar, graters and a good knife set were there.
The master has a king bed facing the bay view. The other bedroom squeezes in a queen and twin bed. All the beds had memory foam toppers and were comfortably. There is a full bath with a heater and noisy fan (likely a bad bearing) and a half bath (no fan but a window). Central heat. Power outages can occur there. There is a large stone fireplace with wood supplies in the carport. LED lanterns are also supplied. Check the weather for Inverness but it rarely is hot enough to require any AC which we did not see present.
Wifi is weak and frequently dropped. There is no cell service. However, I was able to connect most of the time in the living room and make a Facetime call. My friend used wifi calling and only dropped once.
Water is from a well shared with two close neighbors. One is asked to conserve.
Shared spices etc were scant, so bring everything you may eed like cooking oil, sugar, shampoo and body wash, etc.
Just a great and beautiful place. Perfect time of year to come and perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. Will definitely be coming back!
What a wonderful spot!
Very beautiful, comfortable, and lovingly tended home away from home!
Fantastic House in Beautiful Point Reyes
If you love Point Reyes it is hard to imagine a better place to stay. Perfect location right next to Heart's Desire beach. Beautiful grounds. A view of the Tomales Bay. A huge fireplace that works great and is faced by multiple big comfy couches and chairs. Big kitchen with everything you need. Will definitely be back.
