Nita, Great Place!!! As soon as we walked through the door we were floored by the condo. The interior was splendid and the view was even better. It was like stayin in our own personal 5-star resort. We had dinner every night out on the lanai and watched the sunset. I got some great photos of the sunsets - they are like the ones you see on the calenders. Surfers on the water every day, turtles in the cove, and close to everything (The covered off the street parking was also very nice). We boogie boarded just down the street at Magic's Beach and had some great waves. It was in walking distance. Also, the binder of info with recommendations of things to do and places to go was very handy. The island is so big that it was nice to be able to narrow things down to do the best of the best. We hope to go back and finish our tour soon and would love to stay at your condo again. Thanks again for the privilege of staying there. We really enjoyed our stay.

The pictures of this condo are great and are not false advertising. This is the most nicely appointed condo I have ever been in. Janice and Robert have thought of everything. This is nothing you will need or want that is not in the condo. The view is lovely and we enjoyed watching the surfers. The only downside is that the ocean surf is pretty load and you need to leave the windows open for ventilation since there is no A.C.

Janice and Robert, The first evening at your lovely Hawaiian hale, Nancy and I sat on the lanai, wine glass in hand, as we watched several green Hawaiian sea turtles glide among schools of fish in the crystal clear pools just a few feet below. As the waves crested on the reef one hundred yards beyond, two surfers gracefully carved the water in perfect synchronization -- one going left, the other going right, as if one were merely a reflection of the other. The sky and ocean were so blue, that it would have been difficult to distinguish between them, were it not for the glow in the distant clouds which were blushed red and orange by the setting sun. The only sounds I heard were the continuous crashing of the waves, and the deep contented sighs of my beautiful wife. What an incredible first night as your guests. With only slight variation, each successive evening brought that same sense of joy and contentment. You are very fortunate to own such a wonderful and unique property. We are fortunate that you allowed us to share it -- if only for one all-too-short week. We hope to be that fortunate again, sometime soon. Mahalo Nui, Stephen and Nancy Steward Santa Cruz, California

This condo was a great pick! The view is one of the greatest on the coast. It's full of great sunsets, surfers, and ocean friends, all to be enjoyed from the excellent lanai. The unit is all what the advertising explained and then some! Very clean, and has all the items that you will need, and saves taking/buying many items yourself. The people were very friendly there, and it was a very quiet setting as well! This was a great location for our vacationing needs, and we would love to get back there again someday! Thanks Janice & Robert! Brian & Shelley MacKinnon - Nova Scotia, Canada

This was our first visit to Kona and the Big Island of Hawaii. We choose to rent a condominium for our 6-day stay because of the space, location and amenities. The pictures of this condo on the web site won us over. It looked so close to the ocean. It turns out; it is even better than the pictures! It is total paradise. When you first walk in, you will find the entry hall the has boogie boards, flippers and snorkel gear, beach towels, fishing poles…any thing you could want for the beach. There's also a cabinet of board games and books for everyone. Every room was clean and welcoming. There will little tiny ants in the condo here and there. I wonder if that's the norm there? The ants didn't bother us though. Every morning begins with the sound of crashing waves and the sky changing colors as the sun rises. Surfers get out to the waves around 6:30am and the sea turtles were bumbling around in the surf by the afternoon. We had beautiful views of the sunset from the balcony. The pantry is Full of things to use for your stay. There are many appliances and you don't want for anything. The linens and towels are quality and plentiful. The bed is a little bouncy, but still comfortable. It was quiet. We didn’t hear any noise from neighbors in the halls or in the above unit. There is a convenient little market right across the street (Alii). The bigger town with shopping and restaurants is to the north of the condo, just a short drive (or walk or bike ride) up Alii drive. The condo complex was clean and well cared for. There was a pool that was cleaned daily and a spa that was not working during our stay. I completely recommend this condo if you want to spend a wonderful vacation in Kona Hawaii. The only way we could get our bags packed at the end of our stay was to promise we would return someday. This is the best home away from home we've ever had.
Owner response:We are so glad our guests had a great time. We are happy to report that the spa is fully functioning now.

Better Than Home

I stayed at this condo for 5 nights with my 25 year old son and 3 of his friends. We were totally at home and comfortable. The kitchen was better stocked than mine at home, and the guys were thrilled with the selection of water "toys." It was close enough to town for the guys to enjoy the night life, but far enough out to be quiet. Well, not quiet really. We left the windows open at night and were lulled to sleep by the sound of the sea. It really IS just outside the window. The condo was very clean and well-maintained, so was the entire property. The property manager was helpful and always available. I didn't think we'd get much use of the pool at first, since we were at the beach all day, but it was a great place to be when the sun went down. I would very much recommend this condo to anyone who really wants to experience an oceanside vacation. While Banyan Tree beach is really only accessible to experienced surfers, it was such a joy to watch them from dawn to dusk. Our favorite boogie board beach was Magic Sands, just a ways down the road. We had a wonderful time there. Some of us went on the Atlantis submarine cruise. It was okay. I enjoyed the coffee tours up on the mountain more, and also our trip to the seahorse farm. The submarine was the most expensive activity we did, there was plenty to do that was free. We had a wonderful vacation.

We absolutely loved Robert and Janice’s condo – it was the best part of our trip. The setting was perfect, right on the ocean. It has easy access with covered parking and a convenient elevator. It is close to everything yet not noisy. We loved the ocean breeze off the water, keeping us very comfortable. The condo is very current both in style and amenities.( Lots of beach and snorkel equipment, as well as useful local information binder.) It is also clean, neat, and organized . It has a nice floor plan with the bedrooms and bathrooms, offering good privacy. My husband is the cook in the family, so he really enjoyed the kitchen with everything he needed. Many times we just wanted to stay “home” instead of going out – maybe next time!. . . . and there will be a next time. Finally, we want to say how much we enjoyed the excellent communication we had with Janice and Robert while we were planning our trip, which put us at ease when renting. Overall, we found everything about the condo to be the very best one could ask for and would recommend this lovely place in paradise to anyone! Mahalo!

My husband and I have just returned from renting this t Banyan Trees Condos in Kona on the Big Island. We so loved staying there that we called Janice and Robert and told them to keep our deposit...we were coming back next year! The view is SPECTACULAR! You have the best seat in the house to watch the surfers surf on one of the most premier surfing beaches on the Big Island. We could also see sea turtles and watch the fish. The condo is accommodated extremely well...every need was thought of, from the pantry to the "toys" to play with while on the beach. Dana, the on site manager, was also attentive and helpful. You will have an amazing vacation when you stay at this condo!
